According to the statistics of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from 2007 to 2021, my country's automobile production increased from 8,882,400 to 26,082,000, with a compound annual growth rate of about 8.00%; China's automobile sales increased from 8,791,500 in 2007 to 2021 26.275 million units, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.13%.
After reaching the highest point in 2017, China's automobile production and sales began to decline in 2018. The main reason is that in recent years, my country's economy has shifted from a stage of high-speed growth to a stage of high-quality development. It is in the process of transforming development methods, optimizing economic structure, and transforming growth drivers. During the critical period, my country's auto industry is in the process of transformation, upgrading and structural adjustment under the background of the slowdown of macroeconomic growth rate and the supply-side structural reform of the manufacturing industry as a whole. The influence of factors such as decline has been under greater pressure, but in terms of the absolute total annual production and sales, my country's annual production and sales of automobiles will continue to rank first in the world in 2020. In 2021, thanks to the development of new energy vehicle technology, automobile production and sales will pick up, with a year-on-year increase of 3.4% and 3.8% respectively.
